What My School Clubs Taught Me
11:49 PM
Why yes, It's that time of the month where our school clubs ends. On 28th of July was the closing ceremony for the school CCA's. Sad news, that next year I'll be sitting for my O'Level exam and there will be no more clubs for us except Al-Quran. Every year, you got to pick your school club based on what you are interested in and for me I chose clubs like Dikir & Tausyeh, Choir, Community Club, Volleyball and lastly Web Development.
For today, I'd like to take a moment to write down all the things what my school clubs taught me these past years. This is going to an emotional ride and I hope you are ready!
From Year 7, Our class were chosen to join the Traditional Games club but I wasn't interested in it. Luckily there was this club that were looking for more members which was the Dikir & Tausyeh club. From experience, I've actually entered a competition between schools and won the Top 3 beating 10 different schools. I'm guessing I could handle a whole lot more! and plus I've met amazing people through the club. What the club taught me was the beauty of singing in a different language that you don't understand and It makes you think twice about how people so much effort into the songs you learn. It was definitely an eye opener for me.
Then up to Year 8 was the start where you can choose whatever club you want and for me, I've chosen Choir. I've love singing ever since I was a little girl and I was very much interested in it. I love the friends I made through the journey every tears and laughs we share, I would not compare it to anything at all. We won top 10 which was still good because we were the first to enter semi finals for Choir in our school. I would like to thank the teachers and coaches that taught us to be confident in our own voices, pushing us to the limits and for the Jolibee treat. Oops. It was definitely the best experience and I end up in being The Brunei Times website for the Choir Festival in 2014. Spot me!
Year 9! I pretty much joined Community Club because of the cause what our club were contributing into. I support what our club was dealing with and I definitely had a good time being in this club. I remember selling over $90 on our drinks that we made fresh and that our teamwork was very strong! It taught me the power of friendship and teamwork. I couldn't have chosen a better club than this.
And lastly, Year 10. This year we get to choose two clubs which was Non-Sport and Sport club. I've chosen Volleyball and Web Development. During Volleyball, It was a bit tough for me because I am not a very sports person and I consider myself as to being weak in any physical activities in school. The people I play Volleyball with are very good at it and I was literally the loser in the club. It was definitely one of my weakness but overall, I did quite learn a few things about Volleyball and how teamwork is very appreciated.
Moving on to the end of March we get to be in our Non Sport club, Web Development. Oh how I am very thankful and grateful for this club. I can't put into words of how I am very lucky to be in this club, I love the teachers and the friends I've made. The teachers were the reason that made me write this blog. This blog that you are reading. Yes. I will never forget the memories I've made with such hardworking people.
WHAT A JOURNEY. Don't you think? Note that I love every single club that I've join so far in this school. Thanks for reading!
That's All From Me,
Daffina. xx
